How to straighten a scanned PDF

  1. Choose a scanned or image-based PDF.
  2. Review each automatically detected correction angle.
  3. Fine-tune individual pages when needed.
  4. Create the corrected PDF locally and download it.

Automatic and manual deskew

PDFMech estimates small page rotations from horizontal printed text and lets you adjust every page in quarter-degree steps.

Private scan processing

Page analysis, rendering, correction, and PDF export happen in your browser without uploading the source document.

Scan-specific raster output

Corrected pages are rasterized and should be sent through OCR afterward if searchable text is required. Pages at zero degrees are preserved.

Straighten scanned PDF pages online FAQ

Is my scanned PDF uploaded?

No. PDFMech analyzes and straightens supported pages locally in your browser.

Does automatic deskew work on every page?

No. Pages need enough horizontal printed text or line structure for reliable detection. You can adjust every page manually.

Will searchable text be preserved?

Pages corrected by a non-zero angle are rasterized, so existing interactive text is not preserved on those pages. Run PDFMech OCR afterward to add a new searchable text layer.

Does this replace my original PDF?

No. PDFMech creates a separate deskewed PDF and leaves the source file unchanged.
